What to do in Budapest on a rainy day?

Rain happens, but don’t get discouraged, there’s plenty to discover in Budapest in any weather. Here are some tips how to make the most of your stay, even when the clouds are not so cooperative!

  • Csopa Science Center – the center for scientific wondersis the first interactive scientific playing area in Hungary having received its visitors for 21 years now from all age groups who wish to play to know more.   • Mammut Bowling Club inside Mammut Shopping Center has 8 automatic  bowling fields, hourly rates range from 4990 HUF – 6590 HUF depending on the time slot. The shous are included in the price and each field is available for up to a group of 8 people.
  • Future Park is an interactive experience center, introduced by Japanese experts presenting visitors with inspirational experience and a magic world. Kids and adults can experience free thinking as well as teamwork as a means of promoting creativity, which is then used in our daily lives. 
  • Exitgames’ site collects the best escape rooms varying from spooky, murder, fantasy, detective themes just to name a few.
  • Book an indoor lasergame and enjoy the unlimited popcorn and drinks.

  • Play chess at Széchenyi thermal baths with local veterans, who are hard to beat, because they always have a trick up their sleeves!
  • Mandala Day Spa is an oasis in the middle of the city. Spa guests can also experience the wonders of the rain-fall jacuzzi with bubbling hot water and special rain-fall imitation reproducing a piece of nature. tTy the unique Finnish/ Infra sauna combined salt cabin as well.
  • The Veli Bej Turkish bathhouse, originally named Veli Bej, was built in the 16th century during the Turkish era.It’s quite difficult to find this spa, also known as Császár Baths. The beautifully renovated Turkish bath complex Veli Bej Spa is situated on the other side of the swimming complex of Hotel Csaszar.
  • Book a daily wine tasting with Tasting Table! at 3pm, an afternoon sommelier-led tasting experience features 5 fine Hungarian wines paired with some of the country’s best artisan cheese and charcuterie. A crash course on Hungary’s increasingly fabulous wines featuring a sommelier-led evening tasting of 8 fine wines paired with a selection of food pairings is also available at 6pm.
  • Take a cooking class at Chefparade Cooking Schoola contemporary cosmopolitan cooking studio where you can master the basics of Hungarian cooking in a fun and interactive atmosphere.
