Sarki Fűszeres – the French intimate hideaway

This small, French café is rather a grocery store where they are preparing what they are selling. The ground floor of a nicely renovated modernist building from the 1940s hosts this hidden breakfast place, where locals mingle for  coffee or breakfast, chatting by the outdoor tables canopied over with greenery. Ham & eggs, English breakfast, croissants, meat and cheese platters, and plenty other other locally sourced organic stuff are on the menu

Located near the Parliament in the elite section of District 5 peppered with banks, it mainly caters to a well-off clientele. The food is an interesting combination of trendy international staples and Hungarian-influenced culinary essentials. So you might find both avocado toast with poached egg and steak with goose liver and lecsó on the menu.

Déryné Bistro – traditions with a twist

Déryné has been the local Grand Café and Bistro for those living in the inner Buda districts since the early 1910s, originally family-owned and operated by the August family. One of the first institutions to be granted a 24/7 caffehouse status in the city, with a French bakery and patisserie right on the premises, live music, fresh international papers and a lively terrace, Déryné has soon became and still is a landmark Brasserie with style, history and culture.

Villa Bagatelle – the comfortable elegance

The story of this inspiring family-run business began in 2010. Ágnes and her husband, Albrecht Wirtz moved back from Germany with a dream to create a place where every detail reflects outstanding quality, comfortable elegance, attention to detail and a homely environment. A café where only fresh, wholesome and healthy artisan food is served. Hand in hand with the kitchen, bakery and patisserie staff, their dream has come true. They found the perfect venue in the villa, built in 1929 by the owners of the Saint Rókus Pharmacy, and have given new life and meaning to this renovated building. The Villa comprises three rooms, one situated on each floor of the building and each with its own unique atmosphere. On the ground floor, the Brót bakery offers home-made breads and baked goods. A café and bistro with its own desserts and dishes on the first floor, while the second floor is home to the Salon, the perfect space for family and company events.

Émile – Gerbeaud’s touch in Buda

In 2014 it’s owners found the beautiful villa in Pasarét which was built between 1921 and 1928 and both exterior and interior walls have lived and seen a lot. The name of the place is after Gerbeaud’s first name so it is easy to connect it with its partner in Pest. Whether it is breakfast, business meeting, lunch, afternoon tea, family dinner, children’s party or take away cakes, Émile is the solution in Buda. In the villa a restaurant, a confectionery with a pastry shop and a café are also found, moreover there is a play empire for children at Émile dining room on the ground floor. Between spring and autumn, guests can enjoy the amazing ambience of the garden where comfortable cabanas and family atmosphere provide relaxation for a romantic dinner, friendly or business meeting and family events.
