All around the world the final countdown has started to say goodbye to this year and of course Budapest is no exception. Street Parties Every year there are numerous street parties to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Budapest, the most popular ones are at Vörösmarty Square, Oktogon and front of the Nyugati Train Station. Thousands of people gather to celebrate and party together on the last night of the year. If you would like to join them, all you need to do is to grab your friends and a bottle of champagne and wine and the crowd of Budapest will be partying with you. All are welcome and you can walk from one place to the other enjoying different programs, music and of course the magnificent fireworks at midnight. Bars and Ruin Pubs If open air parties are not your cup of tea, you can visit the popular ruin pubs such as Doboz, Ankert, Szimpla and Instant among others. There are plenty of ruin pubs in Budapest and they are somewhat iconic attractions of the city.
