The long line of services offered by the Budapest Card is expanding with new experiences. To make vacations even more adventurous, new free and discounted entertainment programs await those who have a city card from 1 June. The Zugliget Chairlift is an excellent summer adventure, whether you’d like to hike with your family or take your other half on a romantic outing. Floating above the ground, you can enjoy the Budapest panorama in the marvelous forest environment during the more than one kilometre trip. If you have a valid Budapest Card, you don’t need to buy a ticket either for the chairlift or for the summer’s biggest folk art bustle. The Festival of Folk Arts, which has enjoyed unwaning popularity for 32 years, is one of the capital’s most interesting festivals. Between 17–20 August, the Buda Castle will be populated by artisans’ merchandise, folk music concerts, dances, the smell of the most delicious traditional foods, and, of course, hundreds of visitors. A unique atmosphere is guaranteed – believe us, it would be a shame to miss out. Who doesn’t know a little boy (or a big boy) who is obsessed with buses and trams? From June, the Budapest Card offers new experiences for them, too. It’s worth descending from the summer heat into the Deák square underpass, where the Underground Railway Museum is located. The exhibition, installed in one of the subway’s original tunnel sections, commemorates the continent’s first subway, opened in 1896. Budapest Card holders are entitled to a discounted entry ticket here, too. Moreover, they can also visit the Town Public Transport Museum for free. Those who would like to keep fit during their holiday too, can now do so. The Budapest Card provides free entry to the Scitec Gold Fitness Club. The 3,600 sq m gym awaits those who wish to play sports 24 hours a day in the 9th district. In addition free public transport and bath entry, the all-time favourites, buyers have so far been able to use more than 25 free services and countless other discounts by buying a Budapest Card. However, the list of programs will expand even further from June; more than 30 free services will await Budapest Card owners, so they can discover even more sides of Budapest. It’s adventure time!
